Harry Potter theme park opening date leaked
The opening date for a theme park themed on Harry Potter has been announced
as June 18.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando's Islands of
Adventure is almost finished and will see its first visitors on May 28
before the official grand opening the following month.
The 20-acre, £134m "world", which is inside the larger theme park, features
a series of rides and thrills linked to the young wizard.
Fans will be able to immerse themselves in Honeydukes sweets shop, Zonko's
Joke Shop and the Three Broomsticks pub.
There will also be a roller-coaster called Dragon Challenge, in which you
can choose your "aggressive Chinese Fireball or a ferocious Hungarian
Horntail".
Another ride is called Flight of the Hippogriff, in which visitors will take
a "training flight" in a wicker carriage decorated with leaves to represent
feathers.
Aerial pictures taken earlier this week show the finishing touches being put
to the attractions including the imposing Hogwarts Castle overlooking
Hogsmeade.
A group of staff dressed in black cloaks were also seen rehearsing in the
grounds.
