Realtors Confidence Index shows continued upswing
The Realtors Confidence Index for US home sales has shown an
improving market outlook through 2011.
The National Association of Realtors conducts a monthly study on
Realtors’ outlooks about the housing market. The index for the
South – including Florida - has increased from 25.1 in December
2010 to 33.3 in December 2011.
2012 has started off with a significant amount of good news,
says NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. Existing home sales are
up from a year ago. Pending sales (contract signings) are up.
Inventory stock of homes available for sale has declined. And
housing affordability continues at record high levels.
